On June 6, 2015, with the support of the 111 project, “introducing talents base for discipline innovation of vehicle-road information perception and intelligent transportation systems”, Prof. Huaizhu Gao from Cornell University in US came to our base and conducted academic exchanges.
During the visiting, Prof. Huaizhu Gao communicated with teachers in our lab and Highway School,
Automotive School,
Magazine office and so on. He visited the
road traffic intelligent detection and equipment engineering technology research center of Shaanxi,
and made an academic report entitled “From transportation to air pollution and public health-Integrated modeling and information systems for sustainable urbanization”. The seminar was hosted by vice-president of school Zongtao Duan
,
and about 40 teachers and students were present.
After that,
Yuxin Hu ,the Communist Party secretary of School gave souvenirs to Prof. Huaizhu Gao.
Prof. Huaizhu Gao is an Associate Professor of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University in US. He is a member of Transportation Research Board Committee on Transportation and Air Quality, an academic member on the Federal Advisory Committee of US EPA MOVES model development, a member of Transportation Research Board Committee on Maintenance Equipment
.
He currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Transportation Research Part D,
and a member of the Cornell Atkinson Center for a Sustainable Future (ACSF). His research focuses on quantitative modeling and development of engineering systems solutions for sustainable and intelligent infrastructure and lifeline systems, low carbon and low emission transportation systems, and closely related environment-energy systems.
