On May 11, 2015, Professor Zheng Yuliang from University of North Carolina at Charlotte US visited Chang’an University for academic exchanges，invited by Professor Zhao Xiangmo and supported by the 111 project.

Professor Zheng Yuliang made an academic speech entitled "The Future of Digital Currency". Professor Duan Zongtao, vice dean of The School of Information Engineering, chaired the seminar. Some teachers and postgraduate students attended it.

Introduction to academic visitor：

Professor Zheng Yuliang is an internationally renowned cryptographer and information security expert. He is known as the father of the signcryption technology which is now an ISO international standard for data security. In 1988 and 1991, heearned a master’s degree and a doctorate at Yokohama National University, Japan. He was an expert in Australian Defense Force Academy and professor at the University of Wollongong and Monash University. In August 2001, as one of the top 10 international experts in cyber security, Professor Zheng joined the faculty of UNC Charlotte where he founded the Information Security and Assurance Center (ISAC).

Professor Zheng has published over 200 scholarly articles and books in the field of security and holds a number of patents in cyber security. He leads many international research communities, serving as the Chair of the Steering Committee of the Public Key Cryptography (PKC) conferences sponsored by the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR). In addition, he is an associate editor of The Computer Journal published by the Oxford University Press and in the steering committees for a number of research and industrial forums including Information Security Conference (ISC), IEEE Information Assurance Standards Committee, and Workshop on Long-Term/Information-Theoretic Security.

Since July 2015, Professor Zheng joined the University of Alabama at Birmingham as the Chair of the Department of Computer and Information Sciences. Related to his scholarly research, he is working as consultants of a large number of banks, e-commerce, computer and telecommunication companies, and governments at all levels.
