She supervised over 12 scientific research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation project, National Western Transportation Construction projects, new century outstanding talent support program project of the Ministry of education, Shaanxi Province Natural Science Foundation project, Henan province transportation science and technology development projects. She supervised the national bilingual teaching demonstration program, excellent course construction project of Shaanxi Province, the higher education teaching reform research projects and other research projects. Prof. Sun Zhaoyun has taught more than 10 courses, including "modern road traffic measurement technology"(provincial excellent course), "Delphi programming technology" (national bilingual teaching demonstration course), "digital image processing", "process control system and instrument", "windows programming", "Database Principles and Applications". She supervised more than 40 graduate students.

Awards of scientific research and teaching

Prof. Sun Zhaoyun has received the second prize of China National Science and Technology Progress Award, the third prize of Shaanxi Province science and technology progress award, second prize of Shaanxi teaching achievement award. She has national invention patents including new practical patents and9 national computer software copyright. She published more than 70 articles in the Chinese core journals and international academic conference papers, including 12 papers of EI, ISTP. She received the third prize of "Natural Science excellence papers of Shaanxi Province", excellent paper award of "Young Scientists Forum of Shaanxi Province", etc. Also, she had the second prize of "Teaching achievement award of Shaanxi Province", "Excellence paper award of modern teaching and research", etc.
