Richard Liu holds a B.S. and M.S. degree, as well as Doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering from Jiaotong University, Xian, China. He has been a tenured professor in Cullen College of Engineering at University of Houston over 26 years.
Dr. Liu has worked on the research projects related to microwave passive and active networks, RF circuit design, radio systems and networking, numerical computation of electromagnetic scattering and propagation, hardware and software design of ground-penetrating radar systems, electromagnetic tomography, microwave telecommunication systems, electrical properties of rocks, and well logging. He is a member of Research Management Committee of Texas Department of Transportation. Dr. Liu is also an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), Environmental and Engineering Geophysics Society (EEGS), and Society of Professional Well Logging Analysts (SPWLA).
Dr. Liu authored or co-authored 150 papers, book chapters, and conference papers and served as an invited speaker or presenter at 27 conferences and seminars. He currently holds 10 U.S. patents.
