2015 International Conference on Information Technology and Intelligent Transportation Systems was held in Chang’an University on Dec 12, 2015. Sponsoredby the 111 project, “Introducing talents base for discipline innovation onVehicle-Road Information Sensing and Intelligent Transportation Systems”, world-Famousexperts and scholars as well as authorsin the field of information and intelligent transportation from the United States, Australia, Canada, Germany, Romania, and China were invited to participate in the conference.The conference was chaired by the director of the 111 project base, Prof. Xiang-mo Zhao. More than 300teachers and graduate studentsfrom the Institute of Information Science, Institute of Electronic Control, Institute of Automobile, and Institute of Highway of Chang An University attended the event.

The conference opening ceremony was held in Chang’an university academic exchanges center hall in the morning. Prof.Xiang-mo Zhao, chairman of the general assembly, first gave a welcome speech on behalf of Chang'an university, and then Prof. Chen Rui, chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Computer delivered a speech. Invited by the General Assembly, Prof. Asad j. Khattak from the University of Tennessee, USA, Prof. Robert L. Bertini fromCalifornia State Polytechnic University, Prof. Heng Wei from the University of Cincinnati,Prof. LakhmiC. Jain from University of Canberra, Australia, Prof. Ping Yi from the University of Akron, USA,Prof. Valentina E Balas from Romania Olaer University and others totally12 experts made special academic reports respectively. The academic reports introduced the latest researches on car networking, vehicle-road collaborative information and intelligent transportation system integration technologyand created a warm atmosphere in the conference. On Dec 13, the conference was held in Xi 'an hotel in groups for the experts and scholars to conduct in-depth academic exchanges.

During the conference,foreign professors including Prof. Asad j. Khattak from the University of Tennessee, USA, Prof. Robert L. Bertini fromCalifornia State Polytechnic University, Prof. Heng Wei from the University of Cincinnati,Prof. Lakhmi C. Jain from University of Canberra, Australia, and others made an academic tour in the Institute of Information Science of Chang An University. Accompanied by vice president Xiang-mo Zhao, the professors visited the Shaanxi province road traffic intelligent detection and equipment engineering technology research center, and conducted a discussion in the conference room of school. Prof. Xiang-mo Zhao introduced the history, scale, teaching staff, professional disciplines, scientific research, international cooperation, and other aspectsof Chang An universityand the related policies for talent introduction, and expected that cooperation closely with foreign experts would further strengthen collaboration in the scientific research, joint training of graduate students, construction of international laboratories, and academic resource sharing to improve the innovation capability. All experts agreed that both sides would establish closer contact and in-depth cooperation to achieve greater results in the future.

The directors of the Department of international cooperation, the Department of technology, the Department of administration, the center of development research and the Institute ofInformation, the Institute of Electrical, as well as many young teachers attended the conference and communication discussion.

2015 International Conference on Information Technology and Intelligent Transportation Systems was sponsored by Springer Publishing House, the Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Computer, Chang'an University, Northwestern Poly technical University, Xi'an University of Technology, and other organizers. The aim of the conference is to provide an exchange and demonstration platform for global industry and academic experts to discuss opportunities and challenges on information technology and intelligent transport systems integration development, and discuss in-depth the key informationtechnologiesin the aspects of communications, computing, and perception in the intelligent transportation systems.The conferenceis of great significancefor Chang An University to promote international exchange and cooperation in the field of traffic information, to demonstrate research achievements and to enhance its international influence onTraffic Information Engineering and Control discipline.
